I think you're on the right track, although I know less than nothing about networking computers. In my own case, I plan to leave PR running on whatever computer I have that will support it for as long as my printer holds out. I am also using a 1270 and I am seriously considering buying another Epson as insurance. Can anyone recommend any printer other than the 1270 (no longer available) which performs well with PR?
