When the Epson list was alive and well, several of the members kept epson "flushing cartridges" (for the 3000 especially) for those clogs that won't go away. As far as I recall, they were standard carts that had been filled with Windex. RE/the damp cardstock trick: this serves mainly to wipe off excess ink/paper fibers that have built up around the print heads. I don't think it will help a clogged nozzel.
