With two separate installations of each program (with the SAME serial numbers) but with one linked to the Dock and the other (with "Open in Classic" checked) set to open from X-Launch, you CAN have both copies open at the same time. [Actually, my OSX Acrobat is now v.6 pro.] Now this is really generous of Adobe and makes for the easy use of System 9-only plug-ins and PressReady printing while still letting you have full use of OSX for most tasks.
