hi,

I have a pretty weird problem involving (I think) PostScript drivers. Here's the case. I have 4 identical PC (DELL PIV 1.5 GHZ, 512 MB etc.) The software running on these PC's are the same programs and versions (Windows 2000, Illustrator 10, Photoshop 7, Quark Xpress5, Distiller 5). The strange part is that these 4 PC alle have a different speed in printing to PS file and Distilling this PS file to a PDF. Again, all Distiller settings are the same. I tried a test ( <http://www.achilles.net/~jsg/ppst/)> to see if I could find out what makes the difference between the PC's and it turns out that the overall indexes vary from 710.6 to 1827.3 .. that means one PC is 3 times faster than another. The PS version is 3011.104 on all 4 machines. Does anyone have a clue what's going on here ??
Is it possible it has something to do with the way I installed the PS-drivers and PPD's ?. Can anyone tell me the 'right' way to install PS and PPD, coz I remember I had some problems to solve before I had it all working.

thx.
Pieter
