The latest version number (in the DLL's properties) is 5.1.2600.  When viewing the version from a printer's Advanced Properties dialog, the latest shows up as Version 5.2 (5.1.2600.0) 

There have been some fixes from Microsoft that address problems with mismatched components. For example, you could add a printer using AdobePS and the later using the Add Printer wizard, and the latter would overwrite a more recent component with an older one.  

What I would do is download the latest AdobePS and install something with it ... anything.  Then, obtain and install Microsoft Hotfix Q310897, called the "PostScript XP Rollup", which contains all of Microsoft's PostScript fixes. It's labled for XP but it's for Win2K too.
