I need to convert word documents to pdf using an adobe product so I can upload the pdf to lulu.com and be able to buy a printed book created from my pdf by a printer that lulu. com uses. Their printer is only compatable with adobe conversions. However, they are not 100% compatable with anything higher than acrobat 4. But acrobat 4 won't run with windows XP so my choice is to use this free driver/distiller thing then lulu.com can complete the conversion for me OR use the not quite compatalbe acrobat 5.

If I use "add printer" I am given a choice of printers and ports, I select file for the port as it is not a physical printer. I have tried a couple HP printers because the post on the other site seemed to indicate that the HP printer would be the one to use.

So I do get an icon showing a new printer, but it does me no good. I can't connect that printer to adistf.ppd which is the distiller program. I do not know how to change paths or anything like that.
