Hi All, I have a group of MS Word documents, which are merged from a bunch of predefined Word templates. But I cant print them from any local or network printers with AdobePostScript printer drivers, such as: AdobePSTOSHIBA-STUDIO45srs-PS3U From a HP LaserJet printer, I got the following error message: ERROR: undefinedfilename OFFENDING COMMAND: run STACK: (/var/db/forms/MicrosoftWord-mpenglish.p0001.ps After initial investigation, I found those printers all support PostScript. So I figure that it must be some setting in Word documents are not compatible with those printer drivers; or the postscript doesnt like our file names, which are always in following format: 30249870 5249324 881997 NI 1.Doc Does anyone know what cause this problem? From which area I should check? I would very much appreciate your help. Thank you. Judy

The PostScript is attempting to read from a file called /var/db/forms/MicrosoftWord-mpenglish.p0001.ps Of course, it will fail, because your printer does not have any files at all, because it has no hard disk (correct?) I think someone did something very clever with their templates, but on the assumption the PostScript would go to a special printer with a hard disk. You need to track this down, perhaps to a Word Field request. Aandi Inston

>I can print those Word files from that printer, but gets the following line in header: >gsave initgraphics (/var/db/forms/MicrosoftWord-mpenglish.p0001.ps) run exec grestore. A good clue. This does strongly suggest that one of the documents includes a PRINT field (or similar, I don't know that part of Word very well). These instructions are what is causing the problem in PostScript; other kinds of printer might just print them as text, or might fail completely. Aandi Inston

Hello, I am new to this forum and hope someone will be able to help me. I have Windows XP and am using Microsoft Office 97. I am trying to convert a word document into a pdf file. The message that appears is "pdf maker cannot locate the adobe pdf Printer's printer driver. Please re-install Adobe 6.0." I have not reinstalled because I am unable to find my disk, but also the other fixes state to download the postscript printer driver from the web site. This I did and followed all the instructions but not sure what I am suppose to do now.

Jackie, I recommend posting instead in the Acrobat - windows forum. Downloading Adobe's PostScript driver is not going to completely solve this problem. Aandi Inston
