Like many before who cannot get Adobe Reader for the Palm to recognize PDF files, I have found the problem.
Seems that Reader is preinstalled into the Palm Treo not knowing whether the user will be Mac or Windows. So they left out the AcroPlugin rendering the Reader crippled on the Palm.

Solution:
1.- Delete Adobe Reader from the Palm.
2.- Download from Adobe Website Acrobat Reader for Palm OS.
3.- Launch the installer. It will ask you to select "Hotsync" from the Palm handheld. It will then install Reader for the Palm, Installs all of the appropriate Plugins on the Mac and will:

Install the application, Mac Version of "Palm Reader for Palm OS" This is the Mac application that prepares any PDF file on your Mac to transfer to the Palm. Place this application into your applications folder. The application itself is self explanitory and can run independently from the Mac Hotsync or Desktop applications.

My Palm Treo 650 now reads any PDF file and works great!

Cheers

I am afraid that my attempt to follow you instructions ended in failure. I removed Acropilot and Adove Reader, downloaded several times and tried again and again - no go :) Now it will read a pdf file that I load to TREO but it won't read an attachment in Versamail - any ideas?

Gerry,
I'm sure Chris may shed more light on this, but I suspect that the attachment PDF you're trying to read is not in tagged format. To read it on the Treo, you need to dwnld. the PDF to your desktop, run it thru the Adobe Reader for Palm OS desktop sw and then upload to your Treo.

Hope this works.

Thank you for that - I guess that means that pdf attchments that I get with mail on my TREO are not readable. (Disappointing but maybe that's the way it is.)

I appreciate your note!

Gerry
