Herb V B - Why not turn off auto updates? Well, I did that right before I went on this quixotic quest to tell Adobe that they need help. But, like a classic customer support tech, you have TOTALLY MISSED THE POINT. Most people don't know how to turn that off. Further, you shouldn't have to turn it off. Who decided that software had the right to run these constant checks for updates? This should be a feature that you have to turn ON by choice. Further still, the update process is ridiculous. I can think of no other program that requires so many downloads and reboots to work. Well, that's not true. Maybe Bonzo Buddy back in 1997. Cheers, Paul
