The solution is to completely remove the reader/folders/registry pointers. That gives you a clean slate to install the new version. BE VERY Careful when editing the Registry-I take no responsibility for your actions. This applies to version 7.0.x and earlier. Make sure to remove Version 8 if you have installed that as well. Now you can do an installation of Version 8. If by some chance this does not work for you-you can revert to a prior version.
Thus far I have removed all references to all versions and installed the new Version 8. It is running just fine so far. Goo luck and Happy Holidays
