I have had the same problem just now. I have Acrobat 7.0 Standard on my computer and I want to edit a PDFso I go to the server and I try to open the document by double clicking and it opens in Reader 8. OKso I go back to the server, right click on the PDF and Open WithAcrobat 7.0the file opens in reader instead. So I then think, maybe its a problem with the Windows Open With command. Wouldnt surprise me. Hey, it is Windows. I then go to the start menu and attempt to open Acrobat 7.0 to edit my PDF. Yeah, you guessed it. Reader 8.0 opens instead. Since when did Adobe make its products dominate an older version? Im going to have to uninstall Reader 8.0 to edit this file! The troubling part is that my boss tried it on his machine (with 7.0 Professional) and it worked fine for him. Is Reader 8.0 bias?
