That explanation allowed me to launch Adobe Reader 8.0 and it works now once all the plug-ins are disabled. I verified that by going under the Adobe Reader menu and selecting About Adobe Plug-ins and it shows "No Adobe plug-ins".

So...we are a bit closer to figuring out the problem. It's due to one of the plug-ins...but which one??? It seems to me it's the Adobe Update Manager because that always shows up as the last item running in the Thread 0 that crashes (displayed in Crash Report).

I'm happy to help debug this, but I still can't use it until this bug is resolved. I'm not about to have to use shift to always open Adobe Reader 8. What a pain.
