It doesn't work for Firefox on Windows XP Pro either. I get the "Cannot
use Adobe Reader to view PDF files in your browser. Reader will now
exit. Please exit your browser and try again." I gone into Acrobat
and performed Edit>Preferences>Internet>Display PDF in browser. I have
tried it both ways, rebooted, etc. I have the same outcome. I cannot
view PDF files by clicking on links from within Firefox. I can do a
File>Open and enter the URL into the Filename box and the PDF will pop
up just fine.

The Internet Explorer plug-in functionality works just fine.
