acrobat 9.0 pro extended: copying highlights

Hi there

I've highlighted a number of paragraphs in a document, thinking that I would then just be able to quickly select the highlights and copy and paste them into a word doc. But although I can select a highlight, I can't copy / paste it? Any help would be much appreciated! :-) Thank you in advance :-)
