I just downloaded Adobe Reader 7.0.8 and, although my computer does not freeze when I try to use it, I do get a pop-up box that says PDF files cannot be read. Before the upgrade, Adobe Reader worked just fine with Internet Explorer 7.0, running on a HP Pavilion PC with MS Windows XP Media Center OS. I see that I was right to be reluctant to the upgrade, but it is too late now.
