It's obvious I'm not expecting any help from someone that has nothing to add to the conversation except the fact that they cannot assist. My point was to raise the issue that Adobe has a problem with the way they implemented their DRM. It appears that it is too much to expect that Adobe would have representatives reviewing their own forums to assist end users, something the much hated Microsoft does for their forums. I'm sure Lynsay was hoping that someone familiar with the issue would respond with advice on how to resolve it. Instead they were flamed for even pointing out that there is a flaw with Adobe's DRM system. As for whether or not this is the correct forum, is this not the Adobe Reader forum? Is DRM not a feature implemented in Adobe Reader? Is DRM a feature specific to e-books or is it related to Adobe Reader in general. This seems to be the most appropriate forume to discuss the issue, in my opinion. By the way, I did call the number listed in the referenced site. That number no longer works, you must dial 800-833-6687 instead. Once I was able to speak to a human being they were not able to help me because he thought the server was down, although he couldn't be sure. Another point to make is that this has been far to dificult an ordeal just to get a simple telephone number. If the user is not able to deactivate devices on their own then Adobe should make it easy to get assistance. Instead their users must log into a forum and hope another user will be able to point them in the right direction. This is very poor customer service if you ask me. I assume the next point will be that I didn't have to pay for Adobe reader, that it was a free product and therefore I'm not entitled to service from Adobe. You'll say the e-book vendors should provide the service. The problem with that line of reasoning is that the e-book vendors don't control the servers that perform the activation process, nor do they control how the DRM is implemented. Users are forced to connect and validate with the Adobe DRM server, therefore it is an Adobe issue and their responsibility to support it.
