MIcrosoft Imaging keeps trying to open Acrobat files

Everytime I try to open a .pdf file on my home computer, Microsoft Imaging pops up, fails to open the file, and says it's the wrong file type. I don't know what to do about it. Any ideas? Windows 2000 Pro on an older Dell.
