Reader 6.0 opens but shuts down IP provider

I am able to open 6.0 reader on my home computer, but all other open windows go blank and then my AOL shuts down completely. I also find that when printing pdf. document, the printer(Lexmark) will slow to a crawl or stop and start character by character. It sometimes resumes at normal speed. Any help on what might be causing my problem. Thank you.
