I'm back! I posted back in Sept., gave up trying to install 9.0. Saw no reply, but was suggested to go to windows installer for fix, but that produced another error. I thought by now Adobe would have it fixed, so tried again. First pass said it's on a device or network that's unavailable (????) Tried to install 8.0, but every site that offers it re-directs me to 'upgrade' to 9.0. Strangely, while all this was going on, the 9.0 install completed. But I can't find the damn thing in my sys. I don't understand why Adobe hasn't fixed this yet. If they don't want us to have it, why not just shut it down?? I found another reader named Foxit which looks like a solution.
