After considerable reading of this Forum, I have come to the conclusion that a "Sticky" is needed to cover this topic. Adobe has not provided a complete uninstall utility as part of the upgrade package. There are a number of people (me included) who have written instructions in reply to requests for help. PLEASE-do a Search for these tips. It is veryimportant to remember that you must remove ALL references to old versions prior to installing Reader 8. The methods include software and manual solutions.
WARNING-Editing the Registry is done at your own risk! Make a backup of it and create a Restore Point prior to attempting to do this.
