Thank you for your reply. You are right, I don't really want to get into the registry. Especially since I don't know why this happened. But I do think it was because I downloaded Explorer 7 and then uninstalled it.

I had crap cleaner on my computer. So ran it and installed the Ashampoo and removed Adobe files there. It would not let me uninstall Adobe 7.0.08 from Ashampoo. I get the message:

This patch package couldn't be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the vendor to verify that this is a valid installer patch package.

I dumped the download on Adobe 8 and downloaded it again. I decided to try the photoshop too, it downloaded and installed. Then it started on Adobe 8 and I got this message: Error: 1714 The Older version of Adobe 8 cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.

I belong to a small credit union and you can just print what they show you when you bring up your account. The major nationwide bank uses PDF. And this happens just when you want to download your statements for taxes. Probably will just change banks to get rid of the problem, since I have been to several sites and the answer just isn't there. At least now Adobe Reader doesn't open up when I go to my account at Amazon.com.
