Mike that was just the ticket. Problems solved. Looking back, the problems started several months ago when I replaced the C drive. The image copy and restore provided by Maxtor didn't quite get it right. For instance Office 2000 simply wouldn't work. Couldn't uninstall it or repair install. Finally installed it on the second hard drive on the computer. Recently, I installed Office 2003 (not an upgrade) successfully on the C drive. Then this Acrobat problem came up. My bet is that it is all a part of the same thing. Once again, I thank you and apologize for not searching the knowledge base.
