Finally I found a topic where everyone has the same problem I do. I tried downloading 8.0 from the Adobe site and it would not fully install. I have 7.0.5 and I had been reading on other sites that Adobe came out with a "new" 7.0.9. patch so I tried doing that update from my adobe reader, everything was going great until the very end it said it could not delete the "old version of 7.0.9" and I have to contact technical support. Funny that I don't have 7.0.9. Yes I see that all the solutions require people to go into the registry. I wouldn't touch my registry with a 10 foot poll, I know nothing about it so why mess with it? I didn't try uninstall Adobe as I see that no one else can do it so I'm not going to bother nor have I tried looking at a PDF file with the Adobe I got in fear that it may be a trick PDF file and I could get hacked due to the fact I don't have the patch. So what now? I guess I could try deleting it and if it doesn't work then what? I have to pay someone to come in and delete it for me or wait for the day when I get hacked and have to spend $2,000 on a new computer? Thanks Adobe for making a program that it costs more to get rid of then it's actually worth having.
