I am having the same exact problem. As soon as I try to open adobe reader 8 I get an error message that says it has encountered a problem and needs to close. The program seems to download and install fine but then as soon as I try to open it I get the error message. I've reinstalled a couple of times with no change. I also tried right clicking on the desk top (as recommended) icon and no boxes were checked. Any suggestions?
