No more possible to separate downloading from installation?

In the past, I could download a .ZIP or .EXE of the entire Reader and then, w/o even be conneted to the web, install the package.
It seems to me that now, I can only download a small executable (DLM - which is a download manager) that later downloads AND install the package while being online. For one, I don't like to perform things such as installation (especially given that this has to be in admin mode) while I am on line. Secondly, If I need to make installation multiple times, I don't want to go through the unneccessarily download every time.

Am I missing something and the older style is still available (and how), or indeed, the download/installation online is the only way?

Thanks,
David
