I am having the same problem as well. My problem started today. Whenever an internet page tries to open something in PDF format, that requires the use of Adaobe Reader, both Internet Explorer and Adobe Reader lock up for a few minutes before an error message box appears saying that "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and need to close." The error report from Microsoft suggests that the latest version of Adobe Reader be installed. The download of Adobe Reader 8.0 completes but won't install because earlier versions cannot be removed. Now, I can't view ANYTHING from the internet that is in PDF format.
