I fixed the problem using a program called "ShellExView". Instuctions were posted at: <http://windows.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm>. It was a problem with a "context menu handler" that came from "ShredXP" a shredding program I had installed and hadn't used. My thanks to all who took time to help out. ghpr57
