A commercial Registry Cleaner is what flagged the problem with the HKEY command on my computer. As it turned out, it could not delete the command even though it recognized it was invalid (ALL Adobe directories on my hard drive had already been deleted manually). Until the permission on that key was corrected, even re-installing the Version 5 that came with the computer was unsuccessful, because it couldn't update the Registry properly. What I really find amazing now is how this computer will not even acknowledge anything from Version 7.0 up. It goes through the whole install process, but when I try to open a PDF file, I get the message there is no reader installed on the computer. Apparently I'm devoting about 64 Meg of disk space to nothing.
