Actually you still can install Reader 7. If you have a copy of 7.0.8 that is. You will have to completely remove every reference to Acrobat Reader 8 and earlier that you can find. I will WARN you that editing the Registry is DANGEROUS-but necessary in some cases. This method has worked for some (see other message threads here). Then you will have a "clean" base to install on. Also, make sure to shut down all anti-anything programs while doing the install. It is very possible that they are interfering with it. Good luck
