As my current thread is getting a bit long in the tooth, and off topic, I thought I'd start a different one. 

Doing a catalog, trying to drive the generation from a database. Sofar I have been able 

-to import XML data output from Access 2002 database (but have to format it all manually as it puts elements flush together and they need to be separated) 

-write (meaning: copy from this board)a script to place all images in a folder into a document, tiled. Now, I can go about my merry way and place all items and import XML and hope they match up, but if an item is missing a picture... 

I barely know what I'm doing when it comes to VB, and less when it comes to OOP altogether. I can tweak found scripts sometimes, but only sometimes, and the idea of writing a script to drive Access and InDesign is pretty scary (ADODB? huh?) . I've looked at books and websites and there almost seems to be TOO much information and I don't know exactly what it is I'm looking for. I know you guys have done this before, and I don't mind asking at this point...how did you do it? What do I need to learn? Where do I go to learn it? 

And I gotta say, this board has been one of the best resources I've found for anything. Ever.
