ystein,
It looks like the autoFlow parameter and importOptions parameter are switched. So try passing in true for the importOptions parameter (parameter 5) and that should trigger auto flow.
myTextFrame.Place "c:\inddscript\applikasjoner\utvalget\rtf\test.rtf", , , ,true

hi!
I try to place a rtf document into an InDesign document. The InDesign document is based on a template consisting of only one page and one textframe.
When doing this manually I can hold down the shift-key when placing the rtf to make the placed rtf-text autoflow - it works fine: It adds any numbers of pages needed and these are filled with the text from the rtf document.
I try to do this with VBScript:
' --------- Script:
const indd_no_error = 1699640946
Set ids=CreateObject("InDesign.Application")
ids.UserInteractionLevel=indd_no_error
set doc = ids.open ("c:\inddscript\applikasjoner\utvalget\maler\utv.indt")
set doc = ids.ActiveDocument
set myTextFrame = doc.textframes.item(1)
myTextFrame.Place "c:\inddscript\applikasjoner\utvalget\rtf\test.rtf"
set ids = nothing
' ---------- End script
This opens the correct InDesign document, places the correct rtf-document - but the text does not autoflow. Only one page is generated.
I have consulted the > 600 page pdf from Adobe - but lack of scripting experience makes me confused by the syntax provided.
I have looked everywhere for a solution - but I can not manage to give the place-function the correct parameters. I have tried...
myTextFrame.Place "c:\inddscript\applikasjoner\utvalget\rtf\test.rtf", , ,true
...and a number of other obviously wrong combinations to set the autoFlow parameter true - but it does not work.
Can anyone show me a statement with sample parameters that will work?
PS I: I have searched the net for script samples - but very little seems to be available but this forum. Do you have adresses for any good webpages with samples, tutorials, articles and/or discussions?
PS II: I have also searched for a book on the topic. I find a number conserning applescript and InDesign - but I can not find any on the VBscript/InDesign-combo. Does such a book exist?
