Illustrator places several formats on the clipboard when you do a copy (including bitmap). Here is how to show in your VB application what you have copied from Illustrator.

Create a new VB project. Create a form called "Form1". Add an Image field to that form called "Image1". Add a button to the form. Add the following code to the handler in that button:

Dim myClip As Clipboard
Dim myImage As IPictureDisp

    ' Get the global clipboard
Set myClip = Clipboard

    ' Get the bitmap image data
Set myImage = myClip.GetData(ClipBoardConstants.vbCFBitmap)
' you can also use: vbCFEMetafile

    ' Update the form
Form1.Image1.Picture = myImage

Now launch Illustrator. Copy something in Illustrator. Switch to your VB application and click on the button. Hope it works for you.
