Thanks all for the replies. 

I guess Shane is probably right about problems in 9.x not having a high priority for fixing. Roll on when Font Reserve Server has a client for use in OS X (and one or two other small niggles fixed), then I will be moving over to OS X. 

Thanks also to Dave's idea of creating my own "script palette" usng REALbasic. I will start on that tonight.
