I wouldt like to split the content and the layout of an indesign file into two xml files. My customer would like to create the content from a database (this works well)and the layout driven by parameters on the fly.

I tried to find how indesign stores the templates but there is no way to store the template as a xml file.

Some of you are looking in the same direction like i do but with out a solution.... .

The explanation why to split content and layout is: The content is variable and owned by department A. The layout is driven by only four parameters and depends on the language of the text in the content and owned by department B.

A can't change B and B can't change A.

If anybody could guide me into the right direction?????

InDesign is not my normal business so please be nice with me.... :-)

Regards Axel
