Rem paragraph style

Laying out books I try to keep as much of the information about the final layout within the text of the story which is an ID tagged text file. I also try to keep the whole text in one file.

It would be useful if I could create a "rem" paragraph (or text style) that would be in my text, that was non-printing, did not make a paragraph return or white space and was totally innocuous. It would be used to store variable information for headers and footers, etc, for use by a script.

Any ideas? Thanks in anticipation. Mike
