Jens -- I've got a similar problem, where ID2 regenerates all my tags, but where it was named "tagname" it is returned as "tagname-1" and if I do it again it comes back as "tagname-2" and I have a very silly looking list of tags all doing the same thing. The learning curve for linking/updating/placing text in ID is steeper than anything I've come up against before and is certainly not very intuitive, however good it is in other respects. Best of luck, Mike
