I produce a number of columns for newspapers that follow a strict style each day, inasmuch as they have a fixed size. I have created a vb script to substitute new tagged text into a master page for each story simply by giving the text the same name, placing it and updating it. If the copy is short then vertical justification copes with it, but if it runs over I have been checking the overrun flag of the last column, and if copy has overrun, I will change either the leading or, more drastically, the font size of text, until the overrun flag is off and the text fits. That's the theory, but I cannot get the last bit to work and I'm running out of time. It seems such an obvious thing to do, that someone must have looked at this already... Anyone???
