Direct way in CS4 to export selection as PDF, EPS or JPEG?

Does CS4 offer any direct way for an ExtendScript to export just selected objects as EPS? Or JPEG or PDF? I know I could copy the objects to another temporary document, but that seems like an awful lot of overhead. I'm going to be partitioning each of hundreds or thousands of pages into multiple EPS files, and creating temp documents seems like it would add a lot of overhead. Thanks, -pd

Just to elaborate, the 'Group' object has an exportFile method which, according to the description in the Object Model Viewer, exports the objects in the group. However, the OMV description lies. It actually exports everything on the page, whether in the group or not. -pd
