Help please, complete script novice and not much better in CS4 (PC)! I'm creating a PDF price list and i want to link each product in the PDF to its relevant web page on our online catalogue. I can bring in the URL text easily and tag it with any character style i like or add a prefix or suffix as part of the import but cant work out any way to convert all these to an active hyperlink and hide the whole horrible mile long URL. It looks like this script would have got me nearly there but doesnt run on CS4: <http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=1046584#> My ideal would be to replace any hyperlink text in the document with a small clickable graphic or button (www) or something similar maintaning the link. (its over 2000 products so manual is out of the question!) Any help would be much appreciated!

...but doesn’t run on CS4:
Create a folder:\Adobe InDesign CS3\Scripts\Scripts Panel\Version 4.0 Scripts
Place the script there, run – it should work.
My ideal would be to replace any hyperlink text in the document with a
small clickable graphic or button...
I've never seen such a script, but it can be created.

Hi Kasyan That lets the script run, thanks for that! Problem now is that the script seems to prefix the URL text with my document file path for an example "http://test.html" ends up as "file:///c:/documents & settings/testfile/http://test.html" Is this hard coded into the script that the URL is a file instead of a link? Thanks for the help, any ideas on this and then converting the URL text to a graphic would be amazing cheers Alan

Hi Alan, It's hard to say something definite without actually seeing your file. The script works as expected for me. But you may need a totally different script. May be the 'Manage hyperlinks' script is more appropriate for you. <http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&extid=1046582> The main point is: Do you want to write the script yourself or you want somebody to make it for you? In the first case, I can give you a few example scripts that you can use as a starting point. In the second case, you have to provide more information: describe your manual process. If you need a basic script, then somebody on forum may write it, if you need a complex one then you may need to hire a scripter. Kasyan
