Dear Thomas, No problem, and thanks for the compliment. As I said, I learned from a great book designer, who loved type, and owned a type and design business. I set typositor headlines and was production manager, before turning to design. And I was in San Francisco, so got to know some of the Fine Print folks, and the Center for the Book Arts folks. Great typography mentors. Now, about crappy fonts. I'm interested to know more of what you consider crappy in a font. Irregularity in drawing, uneven grey overall, bad letterfit, overall clunkiness? Or something totally different?
