Hi. I am using Red Hat 6 (soon to be 6.1) linux and would like to set it up so that I can use MIDI sequencing software. I am using an old Gravis Ultrasound classic for the MIDI and have a synth connected to the PC. How do I set up Linux to use MIDI?? I checked to see if I have /dev/midi but I don't seem to have this device installed. I would like to be able to record MIDI compositions using the synth. I used the sndconfig utility to test the soundcard but the test didn't work so I am assuming Linux is not detecting the soundcard although I have set it up for the GUS. Any help would be appreciated.
