Think of a partition as a sort of split of your hard drive into smaller sections. For example, you have a 10GB Hard drive, and you partition it as 1GB, 5GB, 4GB. So what it is telling you to do is to create a root partition which i suggest to be a 1gb partition. I am not sure if mandrake includes a means to do this. If it does not you will have to end up doing it manually. Beaware that if partitioning is not done correctly you face the issue that you may loose everything. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Original Message <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< On 3/29/00, 9:33:07 AM, "Aurelio Cence" <aurelio@iegateway.net> wrote regarding iNSTALLATION OF MANDRAKE7.0: > Hi, I'm new to computing, I'm trying to install mandrake 7.0 , I'm asked to > create a root partition, what does it mean and how do I do it, I'm running > win.98se.
