Trouble Installing NIC module

I have a cable modem (SURFBoard SB2100) connected to a PCI NIC (3Com
EtherLink 3C905C-TXM), and my ISP is COX Road Runner service in
Wichita, KS. I recently installed Corel Linux (Debian), and, when I
run lsmod, I don't see the NIC listed. Using the modconf utility I
tried installing the 3c59x.o module for this NIC, but it comes back
and says "Device or resource busy. Install Failed." I tried turning
off the cable modem and rebooting, but I still get the same message.
What should I do next in order to install the NIC module?
Thanks in advance,
Joe
