I'm new to Linux and I want to get it installed on my DELL p111 600r and I
am having difficulty.
I have used Partition magic 5 with the Linux wizard for partitioning my
drive but the Open Linux 2.3 wont load.

I get to the first screen "The System Startup in progress screen" and then
this happens

Kernal Panic Unable to mount root fs on 08:04

I'm dying to get into linux .

I also have Red hat 6.1 here, which would be best for a beginner Red hat or
open linux 2.3?

Please help any assistance is appreciated.
