  When upgrading the old RedHat 5.2 to the new 6.1 kernel, I too was
prompted for the "driver disk". Assuming this would be documented on
the RedHat.com site, was a fatal mistake that cost hours. The Goggle
search engine there could use some refinement, or me another cup of
coffee. Nonetheless I was able to by-pass this request for the driver
disk.
  Solution: Appease the computer with a few attempts to find the disk.
Let it tell you that this is not the appropriate driver disk for this
kernel version, and then press F12 and skip that section.
  Now, can you tell me if you hit the same wall thereafter? I'm staring
at the following message "Unable to retrieve the second stage ramdisk"
while trying to upgrade from an ftp server, self made cd-rom on my
internal network, using the bootnet.img image.
