Hi guys........i'm only new to this newsgoroup but i'm really desperate i've got Redhat 6.0 and left it running while i went to work...... anyway we had a power blackout and i restarted and it's failing to load up a few processes when i boot up. As a result when i try to use kppp to connect to the internet it's giving me an error message saying that ppp ability is not included in this kernel. Now you might think easy....just edit the kernel and recompile it with ppp protocol however when i installed Redhat i accidently didn't install the boot manager lilo and always have boot from a boot disk. Therefore i cant...well i might be able to but i don't know how to change which kernel boots up......i've even tryed moving bzImage and replacing it with my new one but still to no avail. I have been trying to re-install redhat over the top but it keeps saying KERNEL PANIC: BOOT FAILED Like i said.....i'm desperate to have my linux back as i'm stuck with windows. Thanks in advance for any help Axeman
