maybe type Xconfigurator (uppercase X lowercase the rest) at the prompt you
should be able to configure Xwindows and elect to boot to GUI
You'll need your monitor manual handy as you need to know what vertical and
horizontal refresh rates your monitor can handle unless your lucky and its
named in  a  menu,
Then type startx
