've tried and tried various things over the last couple of months and
noting works.

All as root:

I've tried installing RPMs (with rpm -i and gnorpm).

I've tried using PPPD, netconf, etc. (worked once, stopped working).

I've tried sndconfig (worked once stopped working).

I've reinstalled the OS, (I thought this only needed to be done with
Windows9X).

No luck. I've read NG after NG. I've tried all suggestions. No
luck.

The only thing I get is a pretty desktop in Gnome (can't install KDE
off of RH supplied applications disk). I hope Linux is more that just
a bunch of pretty desktops :o)

I tried RedHat support... Nothing... My opinion, worse than MS support
and I don't believe MS has support!! :o) I guess I was a fool to pay
$79 for the VAR.

Do I have a flakey distro? Is Gnome flakey? Is Linux flakey?

Thanks

JW
