I have installed windoze NT4 on my first partition and Linux (Redhat 6) on the second partition. Lilo resides on linux's root partition (/dev/hda2). I have peeled off the bootsect.lnx file using dd if=/dev/hda2 of=/bootsect.lnx bs=512 count=1 and copied this to my first partition so it's path is c:\bootsect.lnx. I have edited boot.ini with the line c:\bootsect.lnx="Linux" but when I choose this choice in the NT loader all I get is the curser flashing in the top left hand corner of the screen. So I tried using the bootpart programme written by G. Vollant which had the same results. Can anyone tell me what has gone wrong? Could it be that NT just can't read the bootsect.lnx file as it is not in FAT16 format (I have left NT formatted as FAT). If so how do I convert this file?
