You can set up the modem with the modem tool in the control panel.  You
just have to pick which com port the modem is on.  Then you can set up
your ppp account in the Network Configuration which is also in the control
panel.  Just go to the section for network accounts, click new, then
select ppp.  All it will ask for is your dial in #, user id, and password.

For the sound card go to your main menu, Another level menu,
Administration, Text mode tool menu.  There you can set up your sound card
and stuff.  Depending on your sound card, it may be able to autodetect the
settings, otherwise you will need to set the addresses for it.  I am far
from expert, but maybe this will help you get started.
